Professional Chart Components for Power Apps
Five ready-to-use chart components for Power Apps: Donut, Funnel, Bar, Scatter. No code, configure in Studio. Bundle available.
Dashboards and reports in Power Apps often need more than the default chart set. You might need a funnel for pipeline stages, a pie or donut for segment breakdowns, or a scatter plot for correlation, and you want it to look polished and match Fluent UI. You can get there two ways: work within the built-in limits (or build custom PCF charts), or use ready-made chart components that you drop in and configure. This post is about the second path and what’s new.
The Problem: Chart Limits and Custom Code in Power Apps
Out-of-the-box Power Apps charts cover the basics, but the types and styling options are limited. When you need a funnel, a pie or donut, or a scatter chart, you’re either:
- Sticking with defaults and compromising on the story you want the data to tell, or
- Building (or commissioning) a custom PCF chart, which means React, TypeScript, and ongoing maintenance. That’s doable, but it’s a big lift for most makers and often depends on a developer.
So you’re left choosing between “good enough” and “expensive.” There’s a middle path: chart components you can add from the toolbox and configure in the properties pane, with no code.
Five Chart Components for Power Apps
Five chart components are now available for Power Apps under Power Components Kit. Each is a PCF component that works in Canvas and Model-Driven apps, uses Fluent UI styling, and is configured in the app (no JavaScript, no custom code). Bind your data, set options in the properties pane, and the chart renders.
Below is a short rundown of each; each title links to its full component page where you can see details and get the component.
Donut, Funnel, Bar, and Scatter: Configure in the Properties Pane
-
Pie & Donut chart: One component, two styles (inner radius 0 = pie, >0 = donut). Use it for segment distribution (e.g. sales by region, status breakdown). Add the control, point it at your data source, set labels and colors in the properties pane.
-
Funnel chart: Built for pipeline or stage flows (e.g. Lead → Qualified → Proposal → Won). Same idea: add the control, bind data, configure in the properties pane.
-
Horizontal Bar chart: For category comparisons where horizontal bars read better (long labels, many categories).
-
Vertical Bar chart: For time series or category comparisons where vertical bars fit (e.g. monthly totals, top N lists).
-
Scatter chart: For correlation or distribution (x/y data). Bind two numeric fields and optionally a label; configure in Studio.
All five work in Canvas and Model-Driven apps and use Fluent UI styling. No code required; configuration happens in the properties pane.
Get All Five: Charts Bundle
If you want the full set, the Charts Bundle is available: all five components for $365 (a discount versus buying each one separately). One-time purchase, perpetual license, 12 months of updates and support.
Try the Charts Suite
To recap: default Power Apps charts are limited; custom PCF charts are powerful but costly. Five chart components (Pie & Donut, Funnel, Horizontal Bar, Vertical Bar, and Scatter) let you add and configure charts in your app without code. You can buy each component individually or get all five in the bundle.
If you’re building dashboards or reports in Power Apps and need more chart types without the dev dependency, the suite is built for that. Check the links above for each component or the bundle page to get started.
